Urban Improvement Trust — comparable planning and development body for other cities in Rajasthan.
An Urban Improvement Trust (UIT, नगर विकास न्यास) plans a Rajasthan town that has no development authority of its own. Inside the area notified to the trust, its master plan decides what land may be used for, and converting farmland to another use, approving a colony layout and issuing plot pattas go through the trust rather than through the tehsil alone. Outside that area the gram panchayat and revenue rules apply instead.
